Does electromagnetic radiation travel in waves?
1 Answer
According to Wave-Particle duality explained by James Clerk Maxwell, a particle consists of wave and particle nature both. For example, we know that light is an electromagnetic wave, which emits wave nature.
But it has benn proven by Physicists Max Planck and Albert Einstein that light also has particle nature also by proving photoelectric effect experimentally and/or theoretically, showing that light is made of particles called Photons.
Also, we know that electron is a particle and has a nature of particle, obviously. But in the mid 90's Heisenberg proved that while in motion, electrons emit electromagnetic radiation, showing that electron too has wave nature. Every particle emits waves, but it is inversely proportional to the mass of particles.
Thus, it can be proved that electromagnetic radiation also can travel as waves.
