Earthquakes are a common event in certain areas and it’s important to know how to react safety.
When an earthquake occurs, the absolute best place to be is outside, away from any glass or trees that could fall on you. However, often these ideal conditions are not present and in that case a strong desk or table as mentioned so far should suffice. Keep in mind the table or shelter should be far from anything glass or breakable that could potentially fall.
Another safe place in an earthquake is under a load bearing beam in a house, or in a doorway. Often in modern houses, doorways are built to handle more stress and can hold up much of the houses weight when the ceiling surrounding the doorway can’t.
