When should I edit someone else's answer?

You should edit an answer if you are improving the answer but not changing the answerer's main approach.
Great reasons to edit an answer:
- fixing spelling and grammar
- adding images and video
- adding examples
- fixing inaccuracies
- clarifying a point
- adding spaces or formatting for easier reading
Completely erasing someone's answer and answering the question in your own words, from scratch, is generally not a good time to use the edit feature. Instead, simply write your own answer!
Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!
