Though plants are sessile and looks less dynamic compared to animals, they are great at defending themselves and active as any other living organism. Basic plant defense include Thorns, spikes,needles (mechanical defense) or They produce secondary metabolites like nicotine,caffeine, morphine etc (chemical defense).Thigmonasty is a type of plant defense (Mimosa pudica/ touch me not plant). Mutualistic relationship with natural enemies to herbivores like ants (Myrmecophily) are a form of plant defense.
