Chaos theory developed out of classical equations describing fluid flow. They exhibited a sensitivity to initial condition that would imply that two trajectories of the fluid (in phase space, that is position momentum) that were initially close, would grow apart exponentially, and would result in widely different final states. This would have made fluid flow unpredictable. We know now, however, thanks to experiments made with large atoms, that chaos is not part of quantum mechanics, as these atoms do not exhibit chaos. Chaos is not a physical phenomenon. There is no chaos.
