Explanation:

y>xy>x is a graph representing all values of yy that are above the graph y=xy=x

so we graph y=xy=x like normal but use a dashed line because it is y > xy>x not y>=xyx then we shade in all values <b>greater</b> then the line y=xy=x or in other words all values above the line.

Quick tip: I like to think the >> symbol points up so it tells me to shade all values above the line and the << points down so I shade below the line.
