From the definition of absolute value we know that
when #x>=0#, #|x|=x# and when #x<0#, #|x|=-x# therefore we have two equations to solve.....

#x/7=5# and #(-x)/7=5#

Just solve each for #x#

#x=7(5)#

#x=35#

#-x=7(5)#

#-x=35#

Divide both sides by #-1#

#x=-35#
