How do the nervous and endocrine systems differ in their rate of their control and in the way in which they communicate?

The endocrine system uses hormones whilst the nervous system electrical impulses.
Explanation:
The endocrine system control metabolism, growth, sleep cycles and other metabolic processes using hormones. Hormones travel in the blood until they reach a target gland or organ, where they are produced. Thus, hormonal messages can take a long time to travel around the body. However, a fast acting hormone is adrenaline.
On the other hand, the nervous system includes the central nervous system and your brain. They communicate through electrical impulses that travel through neurons. These are much faster than hormonal messages.
