Negative function - invert the signs. Inverse function - interchange the x and y variables.

Explanation:

The original function, f(x) = x^2/(x+2), when introduced a negative, simply results in inverting all the signs.

As a result, you get: -f(x) = -(x^2)/(x+2).

Please don't get confused with the inverse notation: f(x)^-1. Completely different than the negative function.

Hope this helps :)
