How does an animal get energy for its survival and everyday activities?

Food, and water, mainly food. Animals have mitochondria that use the sugars provided by plants to produce their own cellular energy.
Explanation:
FOR EXAMPLE:
The sun gives food for the plants. Then some caterpillar comes along and eats the plant. Then, a mouse comes along and eats the caterpillar. Then, a snake eats the mouse. After that, a bird of prey comes and gobbles up the snake. See? That's how animals get food. Other plants and animals give them the energy, to survive and do everyday stuff.
