Goitre is a disorder caused by deficiency of iodine in diet. In this condition thyroid gland enlarges.
Explanation:
Iodine is required for the production of a hormone called thyroxin produced by thyroid gland. If a person lacks iodine in diet , thyroid gland cannot make its hormone. In this condition thyroid gland enlarges. This disorder is called goitre.
