What is ATP and what does it do?
1 Answer
ATP is Adinosone Tri Phosphate
Explanation:
ATP is a nucleic acid in its inactive form i.e triphosphate form. It has a ribose ring to which the nitrogenous base adenine is attached. The phosphate groups are linked with the 5th carbon by high energy phosphoester bonds.
The bonds between phosphate groups have a high amount of energy and thus are broken down for energy. Thus, ATP is called the energy currency of cell as energy is stored in the form of ATP
