How do you find the product of two numbers written in scientific notation?

Multiply the two numbers together and add the powers

E.g. `(3.5xx10^4)(1.2xx10^5)`

`3.5xx1.2=4.2`

`10^4xx10^5=10^(4+5)=10^9`

Putting these two together

`4.2xx10^9` then you need to check it is in scientific notation
