Of a given volume, sphere would have the smallest surface area.
It is more difficult to compare cube with cylinder.
Consider a cylinder with height 2 and radius 1. A cube occupying the same volume would have a larger surface area.
However, increase the height of the cylinder (while decreasing the radius to ensure the same volume) sufficiently will cause the surface area of the cylinder to eventually overtake the surface area of the cube.
