I would impose that the initial velocity is zero (....drops) so I use the relationship:
v_f^2=v_i^2+2a(y_f-y_i)
Where:
v_i=0 the initial velocity;
y_f=0
g=-9.8m/s^2
v_f=33m/s
So we get:
33^2=0^2-2*9.8(0-y_i)
1089=19.6y_i
So:
y_i=1089/19.6=55.56~~55.6m
