I guess you are asking about the differences between a grating spectra and a prism spectra.
Let me enlist some differences below.
1) In a grating spectra there can be overlapping of spectral lines while there is no overlapping in prism spectra.
2) Grating spectra can be normal while prism spectra is never normal.
3) There may be absent lines in a grating spectra.
4) Due to periodic errors in the grating construction, there may be false lines (called Ghost lines) in the spectra. There is no such feature in prism spectra.
