Explanation:

Dividing by a fraction is equivalent to multiplying by its reciprocal. The reciprocal of a fraction is obtained by reversing its numerator and denominator.

For example if we have do divide a/b by c/d i.e we are computing a/b-:c/d,

what we can do is multiply a/b by reciprocal of c/d i.e. by d/c

Hence a/b-:c/dhArra/bxxd/c=(axxd)/(bxxc) or (ad)/(bc)
