The electric field lines converge at negative charges. In other words, negative charges act as sinks for the electric field.
Thus, for a negatively charged object, electric field lines terminate on it.
If the object is a point charge, the electric field lines converge to that point.
If it's a conductor, electric field lines terminate on the surface normally.
