Thermal energy transferred can be given mathematically by,

∆Q = ms∆T where ∆T is temperature change, s specific heat of material and m is mass of the material.

Hence, for a given temperature change happening due to heat transfer, a heavier object of a given material needs more thermal energy than a lighter one of the same material.
