Fusion reaction is taking place in the core of star.
Explanation:
There will be very high pressure and temperature in the core.
THis pressure will be having force to push outside. At the same time due to heavy mass of the star Gravity will be pulling inwards..During main sequence both these forces will be in equilibrium.
