4*L=6.7 "imperial pints" = 8.5" US pints".

Explanation:

1*"pint" = 568*mL.

1000*mL = 1*L.

4*L = 4000*mLxx("1 pint")/("568 mL") = 7*"pints".

Of course you are quite probably a yank. And thus we should use the "US liquid pint"=473*mL. (They also use a dry pint, whose volume I forget!),

Thus 4*L = 4000*mLxx("1 pint")/("473 mL") = 8.5" US pints".

I think this is a persuasive demonstration of the absurdity of non-SI units. Pints and gallons are all very well, but when there are "US and Imperial pints" this is bound to cause confusion (as it probably has here!).
