mg=gxx1000mg=g×1000

Explanation:

Both mgmg and gg represents some mass. Therefore it is easy to convert between both of them.

The gg stands from gram in both units. The mm stand for milli, so we get milligram. This means that this is 1/100011000 gram.

1 gram consists of 1000 mg. So if we want to convert gram to mg, we multiply the amount of gram with 1000.

So for example, 5 grams gives 5000 mg.

In the image below, a stair is drawn with the units. We can see gg in the middle and mgmg at the right end. Now every step we take we have to do the action that is written with it.

So if you go to the right down, we have to multiply the number with 10. If you go up, you have to divide it by 10.

To get from gg to mgmg we have to do 3 times the xx10×10, thus:
10xx10xx10=100010×10×10=1000
So in one step you can multiply the gg with 1000 to get the mgmg.
