Molar mass is measured not determined.

Explanation:

For a given formula, say LiNO_3LiNO3, we find the molar mass by adding the individual atomic masses: (6.941+14.01+3xx16.00)*g*mol^-1(6.941+14.01+3×16.00)gmol1.

From where did I get these atomic masses? Had I memorized them? From where will you get them if you are asked to calculate a formula mass in an exam?
