From the Defn. of Equality of Matrices, we have,

#(1): y=2x-1, and, (2): x=y-5#.

#"Substituting "y" from "(1)" into "(2)," we get,"#

#x=(2x-1)-5=2x-6.#

#:. x-2x=-6, i.e., x=6.#

Then, by #(1), y=2(6)-1=11.#

Thus, #x=6, and, y=11.#
