x=6, and, y=11.

Explanation:

From the Defn. of Equality of Matrices, we have,

(1): y=2x-1, and, (2): x=y-5.

"Substituting "y" from "(1)" into "(2)," we get,"

x=(2x-1)-5=2x-6.

:. x-2x=-6, i.e., x=6.

Then, by (1), y=2(6)-1=11.

Thus, x=6, and, y=11.
