sine has an initial amplitude of 1 so its range is [-1 to 1] but in your function the amplitude is reduced by a factor of `1/4` so it will be a sine wave ranging from `-1/4` to `1/4`

Now the period, normally the period would be `2pi`, but in your case we're adjusting the period input by `pi` so the graph would have a period of 2.
