sine has an initial amplitude of 1 so its range is [-1 to 1] but in your function the amplitude is reduced by a factor of 1/4 so it will be a sine wave ranging from -1/4 to 1/4

Now the period, normally the period would be 2pi, but in your case we're adjusting the period input by pi so the graph would have a period of 2.
