How do you graph y=2cos2xy=2cos2x?

You can deduce a lot of things from the equation representing your function.

It is a cosine with amplitude of 22 and a length lambdaλ (before it repeats itself) that can be found using the 22 in front of xx as the value of kk in:

k=(2pi)/lambdak=2πλ

giving: lambda=piλ=π basically it is a squashed cosine function that instead of going from 00 to 2pi2π goes from 00 to piπ:
