Use hashtags "#" at the beginning and end of a maths statement.

You can get a fraction by using the / sign between the hashtags.

Use parenthesis to group the whole numerator and whole denominator together.

one half is hashtag1/2hashtag giving $\frac{1}{2}$ $1/2$

hashtag(x+y)/(2xxp)hashtag gives $\frac{x + y}{2 \times p}$ $(x+y)/(2xxp)$

x gives a variable $x$ $x$

xx gives a times sign $3 \times 4$ $3xx4$
