When creating a topographic map, elevations play a key role in outlining your landform.
Contour lines are used to show different elevations within a topographic map. Contour lines indicate the steepness of an incline, or whether the area is an incline or a depression.
In order to profile your landform, you need to know the elevations of each section. Then, using your known elevations, draw out contour lines corresponding to your landform’s elevations. Keep in mind contour lines will never cross.
