Explanation:

The first parenthesis does not really do anything, it is as if we are multiplying that expression by "1." And because there is a + sign on the outside of the second parenthesis, we may also "remove" the parenthesis without affecting our final result.

(16-13x)+(10x-11)=16-13x+10x-11

Putting the like terms together,
=16-11-13x+10x=5-3x.
