Apply the identity $sectheta= 1/costheta$ :

$=>cost(1/cost - cost)$

Multiply:

$=>1 - cos^2t$

Apply the identity $sin^2theta + cos^2theta = 1 ->sin^2theta = 1- cos^2theta$ :

$=>sin^2t$
