$= 5x + 3$

$(x^2 +3x-2) - (x^2 -2x-5)$

$= x^2 +3x-2 - x^2 + 2x +5$

combining like terms:

$= x^2 - x^2 +3x + 2x +5-2$

$=0 + 5x + 3$

$= 5x + 3$
