How do you solve |3n + 6| = 12?

Applying the absolute property that says :
If absx=a then x=a or x=-a

Here we have abs(3n+6)=12 then
3n+6=12 eq.1
Or
3n+6=-12 eq2

Solving the two equations we have:
in eq1:
3n+6=12
rArr 3n=12-6
rArr 3n=6
rArr n=6/3=2

In eq2:
3n+6=-12
rArr 3n=-12-6
rArr 3n=-18
rArr n=-18/3=-6

Therefore, n=2 or n=-6
