Here we have $abs(3n+6)=12$ then
$3n+6=12$ eq.1
Or
$3n+6=-12$ eq2

Solving the two equations we have:
in eq1:
$3n+6=12$
$rArr 3n=12-6$
$rArr 3n=6$
$rArr n=6/3=2$

In eq2:
$3n+6=-12$
$rArr 3n=-12-6$
$rArr 3n=-18$
$rArr n=-18/3=-6$
