#(3x-6)^2=4x^2#

You can take the square root of both sides, in other words cancel out the squares.

BUT:
Remember the #+# and #-# signs!

Because #a^2=b^2# may mean that #a=b#
it can also mean that #a=-b#
(squared they are both positive!)

So we get:

#3x-6=+4x or 3x-6=-4x#

These solve for #x=-6 or x=+6/7#
