$x=-0.8467$

$6^(8x+8)-7=2$

$=>6^(8x+8)=2+7=9$

or $8x+8=log9/log6$

or $8x+8=0.9542/0.7781=1.2263$

or $8x=1.2263-8=-6.7737$

i.e. $x=-6.7737/8=-0.8467$
