As abs(x - 8) = 3|x8|=3, we can say that

x-8 = 3 or x-8 = -3x8=3orx8=3

There will hence be two solutions for xx

First solution:
x-8 = 3x8=3
x = 3+8x=3+8 (Transposed -8 to the Right Hand Side)

Second solution
x-8 = -3x8=3
x= -3 +8x=3+8 (Transposed -8 to the Right Hand Side)
