$x = 48$ $x=48$

Given: $8 = \frac{x}{6}$ $color(brown)(" "8=x/6)$ ..........................Equation(1)

Multiply both sides by $6$ $color(blue)(6)$

$8 \times 6 = \frac{x}{6} \times 6$ $color(brown)(8color(blue)(xx6)=x/6color(blue)(xx6))$

$48 = x \times \frac{6}{6}$ $48=color(brown)(x) xx(color(blue)(6))/(color(brown)(6))$

but $\frac{6}{6} = 1$ $6/6=1$ giving

$48 = x$ $48=x$
