Explanation:

First, begin by noticing that # x> -2# means that you want all the points greater than #-2#. Thus, you don't want the actual point #-2#. So that's why we use the #(# bracket rather than the #[# bracket.
The first one means that we are excluding the number from our list of points.
Now, since every number greater than #-2# is on our interval, we put #infty# to the right.
The reason we also use the #)# bracket, is because technically infinity is not a real number.
