$x-y=12$
$x = 12+y$ ..........equation $(2)$

substituting equation $(2)$ in equation $(1)$
$6(12+y)-2y=0$
$72+6y-2y=0$
$72= -4y$
$y = -18$

substituting the value of $y$ in equation $(2)$ to find $x$ :

$x = 12+y = 12 -18 = -6$

the solution for the system of equations are
