$x=0, x=2$

$x^2-2x=0$

$x$ is common to both terms of the L.H.S:

$color(blue)(x) color(green)( (x-2))=0$

Equating both factors to zero to obtain the values of $x$ :
1) $color(blue)(x)=0$

2) $color(green)( x-2) = 0 , x=2$

The values for $x$ are :
$x=0, x=2$
