Explanation:

As the denominator (i.e. `20`) in `11/20` has only `2` and `5` as prime factors, `20=2xx2xx5`, we can easily convert denominator as a power of `10`, by multiplying it by `5`.

Hence `11/20=(11xx5)/(20xx5)`

= `55/100=(50+5)/100`

= `50/100+5/100`

= `5/10+5/100` i.e. `5` one-tenths and `5` one-hundredths

This is nothing but `0.55`
