$2.5 xx 10^13$

A number expressed in scientific notation must be written in the following form:

$a xx10^n$

where 1≤ a < 10 and n is an integer

now place the decimal point so that it makes the number between 1 and 10 ie. 2.5

To get the number back into it's original form we require to move the decimal point 13 places to the right .

we require to multiply it by $10^13$

Hence in scientific notation the number is $2.5 xx 10^13$
