Let y be the height of the rose, and let x be time in weeks.

Since the rose is 10 inches tall in the third week, we write

(x_1,y_1)=(3,10)

Since the rose is 14 inches tall in the eleventh week, we write

(x_2,y_2)=(11,14)

By Slope Formula,

m={y_2-y_1}/{x_2-x_1}={14-10}/{11-3}=4/8=1/2

By Point-Slope Form y-y_1=m(x-x_1), we have the equation

y-10=1/2(x-3).

I hope that this was helpful.
