Since the rose is 10 inches tall in the third week, we write

$(x_1,y_1)=(3,10)$

Since the rose is 14 inches tall in the eleventh week, we write

$(x_2,y_2)=(11,14)$

By Slope Formula,

$m={y_2-y_1}/{x_2-x_1}={14-10}/{11-3}=4/8=1/2$

By Point-Slope Form $y-y_1=m(x-x_1)$ , we have the equation

$y-10=1/2(x-3)$ .
