Vertex Form of Quadratic Function

$y=a(x-h)^2+k$ ,

where $(h,k)$ is the vertex.

Since $a=-2$ and $(h,k)=(-5,0)$ , we have

$y=-2[x-(-5)]^2+0=-2(x+5)^2$ .
