How is a neutralization reaction different from a single displacement reaction?

A neutralization is a special case of a double displacement reaction.

In a neutralization reaction, an acid reacts with a base:
NaOH + HCl → NaCl + H-OH (H₂O)
This fits the pattern of a double displacement reaction:
AB + CD → AD + CB
In contrast, a single displacement reaction has the pattern
A + BC→ AC + B
