How is oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other waste gases exchanged in the lungs and body tissues?

Oxygen enters the body while we breathe in via alveoli,as they are connected with single celled thick blood capillaries.The oxygen diffuses .Also as we respire CO2 is difffused into the blood by the body tissues where it is carried to the lungs by the pulmonary artery to the lungs and out of the body.
