Let the side length of the square be x units.

Then, as it is a perfect square, the area is x^2 sq. units
and it's perimeter is 4x units.

x^2=36

x=+6 or -6 (rej.)

The square hence have a side length of 6cm.

Perimeter of the square

=4*6

=24
