Virion is basically an entire virus particle.
Virion, an entire virus particle, consisting of an outer protein shell called a capsid and an inner core of nucleic acid (either ribonucleic or deoxyribonucleic acid—RNA or DNA).
VIRIONS are virus particles: they are the INERT CARRIERS of the genome, and are ASSEMBLED inside cells, from virus-specified components: they do not GROW, and do not form by DIVISION.
Examples are:
HIV
Small pox virus
Fluviron
Phage-P-22
Coronavirus
