Explanation:

According to Arrhenius an acid is a substance that in water can give H^+ions. You can have strong or weak acids.
Strong acids are for example: HCl, HI, HBr and all the acids that in their formula have two oxygen atoms more than Hydrogen ones like H_2SO_4, HNO_3, HClO_4...
Weak acids have less than 2 in this difference like H_2CO_3, H_3BO_3, HIO...

There are also organic acids with the group -COOH like acetic acid CH_3COOH

According to Broensted-Lowry acid is also that substance that can give H^+ions to other substances
for example NH_4^+ + H_2O = NH_3 + H_3O^+

According with Lewis acid are also that substance that have an electronic vacation as AlCl_3 that in HCl gives
AlCl_3 + HCl = AlCl_4^- + H^+
