Second law of thermodynamics which says that changes will occur to increase the entropy of a system.
Increasing entropy means that particles will transition from a more ordered state to a less ordered (or organized state).
For example, when liquid water is inside a container it has a fairly high level of order. As the water evaporates, the water molecules transition from the liquid state where they are more highly ordered into the gas phase when they will have increased entropy (randomness).
