The monomer is the nucleotide which in turn is made of three subunts. They are the nitrogen base, the phoosphate group and the sugar part.
The polymer is either a DNA or RND molecule based on the type of the nucelotide.

DNA building units have dexoyribose as a sugar, and four types of nitrogen bases are used in building these subunits, They are adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine.
RNA has the oxyribose as a sugar part in the building unit. The nitrogen bases are one of four, which are adenine, uracil, guanine, and cytosine.
